Dr. Callesano earned her Doctor of Audiology degree from Northwestern University in 2014. She is licensed to practice audiology and is a registered hearing aid dispenser in New York. She maintains her Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology (CCC-A) from the American Speech Language and Hearing Association (ASHA) and she is a fellow of the American Academy of Audiology. She is also a member of the American Tinnitus Association. She has been professionally trained in Tinnitus Retraining Therapy (TRT) by Drs. Jastreboff in 2016.

After graduation, Dr. Callesano accepted her first professional position as an associate at the Hearing and Tinnitus Center. It is here where Dr. Callesano’s interest in helping patients with tinnitus, hyperacusis, and misophonia began.
Dr. Callesano’s clinical expertise includes the diagnosis and management of hearing loss, tinnitus, and hyperacusis. She also specializes in the fitting of digital hearing technology and use of assistive listening devices. Dr. Callesano believes that hearing better equates to a better life. She is dedicated to guiding her patients into appropriate hearing technology options to effectively address their hearing and tinnitus needs.
When she is not helping her patients, Dr. Callesano enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, and exercising.
Dr. Herzfeld founded the Hearing and Tinnitus Center back in 2003 following her prior employment as Director of Audiology in a large clinical setting and consulting for audiology practices in the Long Island area.

After recognizing that many of her patients with hearing loss also suffered from tinnitus, Dr. Herzfeld began specializing in the management of tinnitus and hyperacusis. She also has a refined interest in working with patients who suffer from misophonia. In fact, she is one of only a very few practitioners nationwide to be considered an expert in misophonia. She has also been professional trained in Tinnitus Retraining Therapy by Drs. Jastreboff. In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Herzfeld has published several articles detailing the benefits of fractal music in tinnitus management, the importance of counseling in audiology programs, and building and growing an audiology practice.
Dr. Herzfeld earned her B.A. from Lehman College and a Master’s in Audiology from Queens College. In 2000, she returned to school to earn her Doctor of Audiology degree from Central Michigan University.
Dr. Herzfeld is a licensed New York State audiologist. She serves on many committees through her professional associations. She also served as a subject matter expert twice; once for the creation of the Pediatric Board Certification exam through the American Board of Audiology (ABA) and secondly, as subject matter expert for the creation of the Tinnitus Certificate again through ABA.
In her spare time, Dr. Herzfeld enjoys spending time with her family and rooting for the Penn State Nittany Lions.
Dr. Maffetone joined the Hearing and Tinnitus Center in 2017. She completed her B.A. at Loyola University and earned her Doctor of Audiology degree from Towson University. At the Hearing and Tinnitus Center, Dr. Maffetone specializes in the management of hearing loss in adult and pediatric patients, tinnitus, and dispensing of hearing device technology. Dr. Maffetone also has a keen interest in the diagnosis and management of auditory processing disorders.
